A TEENAGER who was arrested after police found a lock knife and a large amount of suspected drugs in a park has been released under investigation.
Officers were on patrol along Coronation Drive on Monday, June 22, when a man saw them and began to run into Stadt Moers Park, in Whiston.
Following a foot chase, officers detained the suspect and allegedly found a lock knife in his possession.
A search of the woodland was conducted and a large amount of white powder suspected to be cocaine, and a bag of cannabis were located.
A 19-year-old man from Huyton was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs and possession of an offensive weapon.
He was taken into police custody for questioning.
When asked for an update on the investigation, a Merseyside Police spokeswoman said the 19-year-old man has been released under investigation, while detectives continue their inquiries.

Following the arrest, Inspector Alan Bailey said: "This arrest is part of our proactive work to ensure we take offenders supplying drugs off our streets.
“Those involved in organised crime and drug supply have no thought for anyone other than themselves, their criminal intent and greed. This criminal activity is hugely damaging to our communities, which often involves intimidation, violence and creating fear in the neighbourhood.
“I would ask anyone who has information about this kind of activity to come forward so action can be taken.”
