THIS was the scene after a two-vehicle crash at a busy junction in St Helens on late Monday evening.

The collision, involving a Mercedes and a Toyota, happened at the Windle Island junction of Rainford Road and the East Lancashire Road, at just before 10pm.

Emergency services were called to the scene, where one of the drivers was suffering from an arm injury.

Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing, Merseyside Police told the Star.
