ALDI is calling on shoppers in Merseyside to help identify where it should open its next stores.
The supermarket giant has launched a public campaign in Merseyside to gather suggestions for areas that would benefit from a new store.
Aldi said the most requested locations will be reviewed by its team as part of its ongoing commitment to bringing its high-quality, affordable food to even more communities across the UK.
Jonathan Neale, managing director of national real estate at Aldi UK, said: "We know how important it is for people to have access to affordable, high-quality food close to where they live, which is why we’re asking our shoppers to help us identify the communities that would benefit most from a new Aldi store.
"Opening new stores in these areas means we can bring great value to more customers, while also creating jobs and offering industry-leading pay."
The campaign comes as part of Aldi’s long-term goal to reach 1,500 stores across the UK, backed by more than £370 million of investment in new stores this year alone.
Aldi ran a similar initiative last year, which identified priority locations in London, Merseyside, and Oxfordshire.
Since then, progress has already been made toward opening a new store near Pendle Drive in Liverpool, as well as sites in Hanworth and Willesden in London.
Customers wishing to nominate a town or area are invited to email NextNewStore@aldi.co.uk, stating their suggestion in the subject line.
Submissions will be accepted until June 18, 2026.
Aldi plans to share the results and unveil the next round of priority locations later this year.
The supermarket chain said that all submissions will be reviewed, and the most popular locations will be added to the shortlist for consideration.
However, final decisions will depend on factors such as local demand and property availability.
Aldi requires a minimum two-acre site to accommodate an 18,000 to 20,000 square foot store, with 100 or more dedicated parking spaces.
Sites must be prominently located on main roads with good visibility and access, and ideally have a catchment area of around 15,000 people.
