A MAN has been charged after detectives raided an address and seized £100,000 in cash and a quantity of cocaine.
Police swooped as part of Operation Venetic, a national investigation into the use of encrypted mobile phones by organised crime groups.
Detectives from the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit (NWROCU), supported by Merseyside Police, carried out the warrant last Thursday, April 23.
During the search, officers seized half an ounce of cocaine, two burner phones, a cryptocurrency wallet containing £2,600, and £100,000 in cash.
A 31‑year‑old suspect man was arrested on suspicion of drugs and money laundering offences, and he was taken to a local police station for questioning.
When asked for an update, a NWROCU spokeswoman confirmed the man had since been charged.
