A PROMINENT arcade and cafe building has been sold subject to contract.
The Star reported back in 2022, when the Cafe & Amusements premises, on the corner of Duke Street and Crab Street, had been initially listed on property website Rightmove.
The building is no longer being actively advertised, with it now listed as 'Sold STC'.
A price of £175,000 was listed online for the property.
The empty building had been put up for sale with potential for a range of future uses.
At the time, details of the marketing described the property as an opportunity for investors or owner‑occupiers, subject to the relevant permissions.

A description of the property on Rightmove had stated: "A rare and wonderful opportunity has come to market by way of this commercial building in the heart of St Helens Town Centre.
"This building is located on the bustling corner of Duke Street and Crab Street, and has so, so much untapped potential.
This added the property has "potential to be a shop, restaurant or a wonderful cocktail bar is what it is crying out for.
"Duke Street is highly popular for its nightlife, and this provides THE perfect chance for a spacious venue, but in the most visible of spots. There is also potential to convert upstairs, subject to relevant permissions.
"The upstairs of the building is not used for any purpose and would make an ideal conversion into an apartment, possibly two."
No details have yet been released about the buyer but its sale marks a significant step forward for the future of the site.
