A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of offences including rape, assault and false imprisonment after police were called to a property.
Officers attended an address in St Helens following reports of a disturbance on Thursday, March 12.
A 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of several offences including rape, attempted, rape assault and false imprisonment.
The man was also arrested on suspicion of administering a noxious substance and theft.
He has been released on conditional bail as a police investigation into the alleged incident continues.

A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "We have arrested a 44-year-old man following reports of a disturbance in St Helens on Thursday 12 March.
"The man was arrested on suspicion of rape, attempted rape, common assault, false imprisonment, cause administer poison/noxious thing with intent to injure/aggrieve/annoy and theft.
"He has been released on conditional bail pending further inquiries."
