A MAN charged with multiple offences including rape, burglary and possession of a knife has made a first court appearance.
Following a report, police arrested a suspect on suspicion of several offences.
Dayne Smith, of Riddell Way, Sutton Leach was charged with the rape of a woman; two offences of burglary; harassment; possession of a Class B controlled drug (cannabis) and possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place.

Smith, 38, was remanded to appear at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates' Court on Monday, November 17.
During the hearing before magistrates, the case was sent to Liverpool Crown Court.
Smith was remanded into custody and will appear next before the higher court on Monday, December 15.
