A TOWN centre bank has reopened following maintenance work.

The Halifax branch on Church Square, St Helens, had been temporarily closed during recent weeks, with scaffolding in place.

Earlier this month, a Lloyds Banking Group spokeswoman confirmed that the branch had since reopened.

She explained that the reason for the bank's temporary closure was "for maintenance".

A Lloyds Banking Group spokeswoman said: "Our Halifax St Helens branch is open as normal following a temporary closure for maintenance.

"Customers can also use the nearby Lloyds St Helens branch for their everyday banking, alongside our app, online or by calling us."
