A MAN who was caught with cocaine in his possession and drug driving has been sentenced.
Anthony Attick, of Rodney Street, Newtown, St Helens, appeared before magistrates on Friday, August 1.
Attick, 31, pleaded guilty to possession of a Class A drug, cocaine, and to drug driving.
On Monday, March 17, this year, he drove a Ford Fiesta in Kirkby when the proportion of benzoylecgonine, a metabolite of cocaine, in his blood, exceeded the specified limit.
On the same date he had a quantity of cocaine in his possession.
Magistrates disqualified Attick from driving for 14 months for the drug driving offence.
His guilty plea was taken into account.

During the hearing at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates' Court, the defendant was also fined £120, made to pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £48 surcharge.
He was given no separate penalty for the cocaine possession offence.
The court ordered for the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs.
