Yorkshire Building Society in St Helens is set to hold two public events to help people shield themselves from preventable financial fraud.
These events, due to take place as part of Take Five Week, a national initiative led by UK Finance, will give participants information on how to protect themselves from scams.
The sessions will take place at the St Helens branch, located at 3 Church Street, on May 13 and May 14 from 9.30am to 2.30pm.
The initiative is backed by the Government and aims to raise awareness about different kinds of financial scams.

Attendees will be given advice on how to spot scams and what to do if they've been deceived by scammers.
They'll also have access to tools designed to help keep them and their finances secure.
Hannah Bingle, a financial crime awareness specialist at Yorkshire Building Society, said: "We’re delighted to get behind Take Five Week with these events in St Helens.
"Most people have come into contact with a financial scam at some point in their lives, and fraudsters are using many different techniques to try and get to people’s information and money.
"By hosting our fraud and scams awareness sessions, we hope to reach as many people as possible in St Helens to help them understand more about this issue and help them protect themselves against scams and financial fraud.
"We’ll be talking about how to spot fraud and scams, actions people can take to keep themselves and their money safe, and what to do if you are worried you have been scammed."
Research from Yorkshire Building Society implies that almost three-fifths (56 per cent) of UK adults have experienced some form of scam.
The most prevalent are online scams (56 per cent), followed by phishing attacks (55 per cent), and identity theft (20 per cent).
Those who lost money to a scam reported an average loss of £344, increasing to £420 among those aged 18–34.
