Pimbletts bakery opens new high street shop in Earlestown

With Ryan Little taking over the reins of Pimbletts in 2021, the businessman's main aims were to sustain the legendary business and bring the brand back to the high street.

Using the same recipes passed down from the original business, Pimbletts switched to an industrial unit on Jackson Street after being taken over by Mr Little and opened its first shop on Boundary Road in St Helens in January 2024.

The bakery opened on March 21 after a short trial in Earlestown (Image: Pimbletts) With an eye on further expanding the bakery, Mr Little previously held an agreement with St Helens Council to open up a Pimbletts unit in Earlestown, although the initial plan fell through due to the building condition.

Despite the disappointment of the agreement falling through, the businessman has continued to work with the council to secure another unit in Earlestown.

Residents had spotted Pimblett's iconic logo spotted on a freshly-painted unit on Market Street recently, with internal works going on behind the scenes in recent weeks.

Following a short trial, the bakery was officially opened by the Mayor of St Helens, Cllr Jeanette Banks, today (Friday, March 21).

With Pimbletts opening up a week before B&M Bargains at the former Wilko unit, the two launches are hoped to provide a crucial boost to the high street ahead of Earlestown's long-term regeneration plans.
