A POPULAR Christmas light switch on event will return to Rainhill this weekend.
With a vibrant mix of independent businesses in Rainhill, the village's annual Christmas event is always a popular event on the local calendar.

There will also be a Santa sleigh procession organised by the Rainhill Rotary Club, while the East Liverpool Riding Association will provide another special guest with Henry the Horse.
In addition to this, there will be a collection of Christmas market stalls inside Rainhill Post Office and on the Cookhouse Pub car park.
There will also be a selection of food and drink stalls along Station Street, which follows on from the popular stalls and entertainment that has been provided by Carouse in recent months.
Finally, the big event will take place at 6pm with the village's large Christmas tree to be lit up along Warrington Road.
