EMERGENCY crews were called to a crash at the Haydock Island junction of the East Lancs tonight.
Onlookers say a car could be seen on its roof at the junction, with police, fire crews and paramedics nearby.
Details of what happened are not clear at this stage, however, Merseyside Police issued a statement urging drivers to avoid the area.
In a statement, posted after 9pm on social media police said: “Police are dealing with an RTC on East Lancashire Road near to junction 23 for the M6.
“Traffic is building up so please find an alternative route.”
