A 17-YEAR-OLD boy from Billinge has been charged with attempted murder after a man aged in his 50s was stabbed.
As previously reported, the teenager, who can't be named due to legal reasons, was arrested on Sunday (September 1) following an incident in Morecambe, Lancashire the previous day.
Emergency crews were called to Kensington Road at 6.45pm on Saturday after a man in his 50s suffered stab injuries.
Lancashire Constabulary arrested the teenager, from the Billinge, following an investigation.
He has now been charged with attempted murder, robbery, and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
In a statement, Morecambe Area Police said: "We have charged a teenager following an incident in Morecambe last weekend in which a man was stabbed.
"Emergency services were called to Kensington Road at 6.45pm on Saturday, August 31 and a man in his 50s was found to have suffered stab injuries.
"A 17-year-old boy from Billinge, Wigan, was arrested on Sunday following enquiries. Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, the boy was charged with attempted murder, robbery, and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
"He appeared before Lancaster Magistrates' Court on Tuesday and was remanded in youth detention to appear at Preston Youth Court on September 10."
