Officers were contacted at 8.55pm on Thursday, August 22 and found a 21-year-old man on Church Street with multiple stab wounds to the back.
It’s believed that the victim was involved in an argument with around seven young males before the incident occurred.
Emergency services attended and the man was taken to hospital. He has since been released.
Merseyside Police have today (Monday, September 2) confirmed that an 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
