POLICE officers were dispatched to search a railway line this morning, Thursday.
This came following reports in the early hours by residents living between Warrington Bank Quay and Earlestown train stations.
Officers from British Transport police were called to the vicinity at around 5.30am and conducted a search.
However, following reports of a trespasser on the line, no one was found on or near the tracks.
