POLICE have confirmed they are investigating an incident in which a teenage girl was followed.
Cheshire Police says it has received a report of a young teenage girl being followed by a suspicious man.
The incident occurred yesterday, Thursday, shortly after 7.30pm on Burtonwood Road in Great Sankey, Warrington close to Omega Retail Park, where Lidl, McDonald’s and Costa are located.
It was reported that the man approached her, placed his hands on her shoulders and began to ask her questions.
It was also reported that he told her that he ‘liked her’, leaving her ‘really frightened’.
Anyone with any information is urged to report it to the police.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At 7.34pm on Thursday, June 20, police received a report of suspicious activity on Burtonwood Road, Warrington.
“A teenage girl was followed by a man who tried to engage her in conversation.
“He ran off when a group of boys on bikes went past.
“Anyone with information should call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 1851185.”
