PLANS for a 50-seater stand and a standing cover area with a canopy at a sports ground have been given the green light.
An application proposing the development at the site, on Windleshaw Road, has been approved, subject to conditions.
According to the office report, the application relates to land at Windleshaw Sports Ground, which is currently associated with FC St Helens.

It adds: “The application site is currently comprised of the sports club pavilion building with associated parking areas, an existing playing field pitch, a 50no. person seater grandstand, and flood lights.
“The application site forms part of an outdoor sports and recreation facility that is allocated as an area of open space, as defined by policy LPC05, and shown on the policies map of the Local Plan.
“The proposal seeks permission for the erection of 1no. 50-seater stand and 1no. standing cover area with canopy. The proposed seater stand would have a built measurement of 6.6m in width and 3m in depth.
“A mono-pitch roof is proposed and would have an overall height of 3.2m. The proposed canopy will have a total width of 10m and a total depth of 2m. A mono-pitch roof is also proposed and would have an overall height of 2.45m.”
