A PLANNING application to create an extension at a day care nursery's premises has been given the green light.

Proposals for a single-storey side extension at Early Learners Nursery, on Mill Brow, Eccleston, were submitted to the council earlier this year.

A planning officer's report noted the proposal seeks permission for the addition of a single-storey side extension, which "would project 4.387m from the side elevation and have a total depth of 9.103m".

It added "a dual pitch roof with four rooflights is proposed and would measure 4m to the ridge".

Also, "a personnel door and window are proposed to the front elevation, with two additional personnel doors and a window proposed to the rear elevation".

It was stated "the proposed extension is to form as a kitchen area for the nursery" and "will be finished in matching render to the walls and matching roof tiles".

It was noted the "proposed extension would be distanced 3.5m away from the boundary" of a property on nearby Knowsley Road but the "driveway for Mill Bungalow (to the rear) will provide a degree of separation and there are no openings proposed to the side elevation of the extension, which would face towards this neighbour".

Case officer Ms Vo recommended approval for the extension, stating "it is not considered that the proposed development would have an unacceptable, adverse impact on the amenity of the occupiers of the existing residential properties surrounding the application site".

She added: "it is considered that the noise impacts from the proposal would be acceptable".

Permission was granted.
