A MAN has been taken to hospital with facial injuries after a group were fighting in the street with sticks.
A large police cordon is in place around Burnell Close and it extends to an alleyway that leads on to Kirkland Street.
Officers have been stationed at the scene and five police vehicles are parked in the area where an investigation is taking place.

Police said they received a report of a group of men and women fighting in Peter Street with "sticks".

A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "We can confirm that emergency services are on Peter Street in St Helens following an assault this afternoon, (Monday, June 10).
"Just after 3pm we received a report that a group of men and women were fighting in the street with sticks.
"One man has been taken to hospital after suffering injuries to his face during the incident.
"Officers found the weapon used during the attack outside an address on Burnell Close.
"Inquiries are ongoing and a police cordon is in place on Peter Street whilst officers remain in the area to find anyone responsible for the attack.
