AFTER being named Merseyside's top salon for two years running, a St Helens business has been put forward for a prestigious and national award.

Learning the tricks of the trade at two St Helens salons, Luke Winstanley decided to do something for himself and launched 'LTW Hair Company' back in 2019.

Launching just months before covid, Luke was ineligible for any self-employed support during lockdown, but after lots of planning and saving, he took the opportunity to take over the salon on Sutton Park Drive after the previous owner stepped down in October 2021.

After refurbishing the salon to bring his vision to life, Luke has thrived with LTW and the salon now offers space to 10 self-employed hairdressers and beauticians.

With hair, extensions, nails, and beauty services on offer at LTW, it has developed an extremely popular reputation in Sutton and has twice been named as Merseyside's 'Salon of the Year' at the English Hair and Beauty Awards in 2022 and 2023.

Following this success, the salon has now been put forward as one of ten contenders for 'Salon of the Year' across the wider North, at the national Hair and Beauty Awards in July.

Speaking about the salon and its nomination, Luke, from Haydock, said: "I've had 11 years in hairdressing now and after going self-employed in 2019, it was really tough because I didn't get any financial aid through covid.

"But I've just worked and grafted and saved as much as I could to keep LTW going, and when the opportunity came up to take over the salon, it was too good to miss.

"To be named Merseyside's 'Salon of the Year 'twice less than three years after opening is just fantastic. I have such a good team of girls here and I'm very very proud of the awards and nominations.

"It has been the wildest ride but I absolutely love it."
