A TUTOR is celebrating her "transformative approach" to supporting young people in the city by introducing new group classes.
Emma Tilbury, founder of Newton Tutor, now offers both small group and one-to-one sessions for students.
Since the introduction of the small group classes, her business has ‘soared’ by being able to cater to a more diverse range of learners and abilities.

Formerly a head of department at a school in Liverpool, Emma set up a one-to-one tutoring service after the birth of her son in 2018.
The tutor previously explained to the Star that the business has thrived in recent years, adding that she has helped pupils with both their education and mental health following the impact that the pandemic had on schooling.
Following the success of her business, the 44-year-old has now expanded to offer a group class of a maximum of five students per session.
Emma, from Newton-le-Willows, said: “By incorporating small group classes into our offerings, we've witnessed remarkable progress among my lovely students.
“The dynamic interaction and collaborative learning environment fostered in these sessions have truly elevated the learning experience.”
The new format is said to boost confidence, deepen understanding and encourage growth and engagement amongst her students.
Along with Emma’s guidance and knowledge, the students also benefit from peer interactions and can share their different perspectives with each other.
She added: “My focus is not just on academic achievement but on nurturing a lifelong love for learning.
“The success stories we've seen underscore the effectiveness of my approach in empowering students to reach their full potential.”
Emma is taking bookings for her small group classes which will start in June, with Maths and English classes available during the evenings.
