A POPULAR pub has temporarily closed its doors as works get underway to revamp and modernise the venue with hopes of giving it a new lease of life.

Thanks to an investment by independent pub company Punch Pubs & Co, the Junction Inn, Sutton, will reopen to guests on Thursday, April 25, with a brand-new look and feel.

Publican Jonny, who has been at the helm of the pub on Junction Lane, since 2017, is excited about the new changes and is looking forward to making the Junction Inn the heart of the community again.

He said: “The news of the investment was instantly welcomed. We’ve been here for seven years now, and it was starting to look a little dated, so we’re excited to be getting a new floor, lighting, fixtures and fittings as well as new décor throughout.”

Jonny, who runs the Junction Inn alongside his father, and business partner, Gordon, has worked in the hospitality industry for more than a decade.

With numerous plans up his sleeve he is hoping that the pubs refresh will further help to embed the Junction Inn within the community by offering a little something for everyone.

“What I love about this pub is its potential to appeal to all guests,” he said.

“We’re family-orientated, and children are always welcome. In the summer months we have our bouncy castle and thanks to our fantastic beer garden, we really maximise this space so that the pub is the go-to place in the area.

“We are also reopening the kitchen, offering Sunday lunches for now, but once we have recruited a new cook our intention is to broaden the menu in the coming months. We’ve also recently introduced non-alcoholic draught beer.

“For us, we want to retain our current guests but appeal to new customers too, which is why it is important for us to create a pub that offers a welcoming space for all, and our latest investment will help to do just that.”

The Junction Inn closed for refurbishment on Tuesday, April 2.

Guests are invited to attend the relaunch on April 25, with more information about the event available on the pub’s Facebook page.
