AN APPLICATION has been sent seeking permission for the use of a property as a house of multiple occupation.

A bid for a certificate of lawfulness for the proposed change of use at a house on Maxwell Street, St Helens has been sent to the council's planning department.

Planning agents AM Architectural Studios Ltd have drawn up the application on behalf of applicant Wei Teck Ho.

A certificate of lawfulness is a means of obtaining a decision from a planning authority that a proposed use or works do not require planning permission.

An application form states: "The existing property was a C3 use class property, and we intend to convert it into a C4 use class property and use it as a HMO.

"The property will house four bedrooms, and will be occupied by four unrelated individuals."

The application states that the proposal has been started.

A determination deadline has been set for May 22.
