NEW studies have named a nearby farm just a 15 minute drive from St Helens has been named as one of the best cost-effective activities in England.
The study, conducted by the outdoor experts at GO Outdoors, looked at factors including cost, the number of Google searches of the destinations, the average Google rating and the number of Instagram posts to reveal the top 10 best cost-effective activities.
In the North West, Acorn Farm in Kirkby came up as fifth in the country, after the likes of Bramhall Hall, Cambridge University Gardens, Old Sarum and Portchester Castle.
Rationale for the ranking comes from the cost effectiveness of a visit, with the urban farm venue charging just £12 for a family of four to visit the site with domestic and farm animals, with horse riding and walks, plus homegrown produce, a shop and café.
