POLICE have named a man from Rainhill charged with causing serious injury by careless driving in connection with a crash in Liverpool.

Emergency services attended a multi-vehicle crash at Speke Boulevard, in Liverpool, on the morning of December 4, 2023. 

Ian Halliday, of Toftwood Gardens, Rainhill, in connection with causing serious injury by careless or inconsiderate driving.

Halliday, 45, is accused of causing a serious injury to a female by driving a Scania HGV without due care and attention.

He is due to appear before Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates' Court today, Tuesday, March 12.

A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "We have charged Ian Halliday, 45, of Toftwood Gardens, Rainhill, with causing serious injury by careless/inconsiderate driving in relation to an incident on Speke Boulevard on December 4, 2023.

"He is due to appear in court today (Tuesday)."
