A MAN who was convicted of a string of child sex offences after a trial has been jailed. 

Police have welcomed the sentencing of 42-year-old Martin Price man for the sex offences, which involved two children.

Price, of no fixed address, was found guilty of eight offences including sexual assault on a child under 13, causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, making an indecent image of a child, causing a child to watch a sex act and engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child.

The offences related to two children and were committed in Merseyside.

The case went to trial at Liverpool Crown Court and Price was sentenced on Friday, March 8 to six-and-a-half years in prison.

He was also given a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and 10 year restraining order and has a notification requirement for an indefinite period.

Victims 'showed immense courage'

Detective Constable Alexandra Lawrence said: “The behaviour displayed by Price was utterly appalling and he deserves to be behind bars for a number of years.

“His victims showed immense courage and bravery to report his actions and even though he pleaded not guilty to the offences I am pleased the jury saw through his lies and rightly convicted him.

“If you have experienced any form of sexual abuse, or know of a child being abused, please come forward and report this to police.

“We take all such reports extremely seriously and if you can find the courage to come forward and speak to us we have specially trained officers who will treat you with sensitivity and compassion.”
