A CATERING company's plans to create an industrial building to house vending machine stock have been given the go-ahead.
2U Food submitted the plans in late 2023 for the creation of an industrial and storage building, with office and ancillary accommodation on land south of 94 Sandwash Close, Rainford.
Plans were for the construction of a two storey light commercial cladded building. It was proposed that this will house "proposed vending machine stock operations".
The building is to be used for "holding stock for the company's vending machine operations and providing office space on first floor".
The land is currently used for car parking, plans stated.

In a report recommending approval, planning officer Alex Ball said: "Given the location of the application site and the nature of the proposal it is considered that the development will not adversely impact upon neighbouring land uses.
"The proposed development will provide additional operating space to their current business and employment opportunities for drivers and warehouse operatives."
It was noted that "whilst there will be a reduction in the parking available on the vacant land" the applicant "has two adjacent buildings, both with ample parking spaces."
Planning permission was granted.
