POLICE were called after a car was in collision with an eight-year-old boy this afternoon, Thursday.
Emergency services attended Windle Hall Drive, in Windlehurst, shortly before 4pm today following the collision.
A Renault was in collision with the child, near to Hard Lane.
The driver stopped at the scene, police said, and an ambulance was contacted to check over the boy.

A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "We were called to reports of an RTC (road traffic collision) involving an eight-year-old boy and a Renault car on Hard Lane/Windle Hall Drive at around 3.55pm.
"The driver of the car stopped at the scene and an ambulance was contacted to check the boy over.
"The road reopened at 5.10pm.
