Litter picking

A COMMUNITY litter pick will be held in Crank and Kings Moss later this month.

Volunteers will clean up the field margins and hedgerows around Crank and Kings Moss on Sunday, March 17.

People should gather from 10.30am for a health and safety briefing at Crank Recreation ground, Crank Hill Road.

The clean-up will finish at about 1pm.

Volunteers, who should bring their own strong boots and work gloves, will be provided with litter picking sticks, a bag hoop and orange bin sacks, which the council will remove afterwards.

A cuppa and biscuits will be provided afterwards in the Marking Hunt at Crank Recreation ground.

Email Rob Latham at rob@solvedesign.co.uk by Wednesday, March 13 to book in.

Treasure hunt

THE World of Glass will host an Easter Treasure Trail on Saturday, March 30.

The mini Easter hunt - for children aged five to 10 - will see youngsters given a 12-egg box and asked to follow clues to find miniature items which will fill each space.

Tickets £5 (plus booking fee) can be purchased on eventrbrite.co.uk

Take a stroll

SOROPTIMIST St Helens will be holding a walk to celebrate International Women’s Day on Saturday, March 9.

All are welcome to join he group at the Boat House Cafe in Taylor Park St Helens at 10.30am ready for a walk around the lake.

St Helens Soroptimists have a friendship link with the Soroptimists in Stuttgart, the twin town of St Helens, and as the path around the lake is named Stuttgart Walk, the group believes it is a great way of marking the International friendship between the women in our towns and show solidarity in improving the lives of women and girls locally, nationally and internationally.
