A HISTORIC hall will continue trading as a luxury hotel and wedding venue after the 200-year-old building was sold to new owners.
Built back in 1824, Rainhill Hall is a grade two listed country house that has served the community for the past 200 years.
Between 1923 and 2014, the Warrington Road Hall was a retreat house run by the 'Society of Jesus' and formerly known as Loyola Hall.
In 2017, the hall was transformed into a grand hotel, spa, and wedding venue by a Signature Living company, before the business collapsed into administration five years later after accruing more than £10m worth of debt.

After six parties submitted bids to take over the Hall, a sale has finally been completed and its new owners - which have no affiliation to Signature Living - confirm that the building will continue to be used as a hotel and wedding venue.
The Hall will also continue to offer the "unique dining experience" in the 'Bretherton Hall' restaurant and bar, and its owners hope to restore confidence in the hotel and build on its historic reputation.
General Manager of Rainhill Hall, Amy Hull, said: "The team and I at Rainhill Hall are delighted to confirm the sale of the hotel has now been successfully completed.
"The new owners will continue to trade the hall as a hotel and wedding venue.
"As part of our exciting future, we will undergo strategic renovations and operational improvements to elevate the guest experience.
"Our primary goal is to restore confidence in the hotel and build on our reputation within the community and hospitality industry.
"We will be retaining all of our existing staff, providing them with opportunities for growth and development as well as targeted recruitment to boost our teams as we get busier.
"We are grateful for the loyalty from the local residents, our valued guests, suppliers and partners.
"We look forward building on those relationships as we progress, and Rainhill Hall becomes a thriving part of the local community."
