A WOMAN who is the full time carer of her grandson has been going from strength to strength with a business she started as a hobby in lockdown.

After being made redundant from her previous job, Denise Howarth, from Haydock, started to make customised gifts that she could give to friends and family on special occasions.

This included things like customised balloons, decorations, sweet baskets, and 'chocolate bouquets'.

After receiving such a positive response with the gifts, Denise has built this into an online business 'Sweet Deelz', which she intends to build alongside her endless charitable work.

With a desire to help others, Denise has been known to organise raffles, sponsor local sports teams, and organise charity walks and fundraisers for various charities.

Speaking about Denise and her work, daughter-in-law Lauren Brown said: "Denise has always fundraised for different charities, and she just has a heart of gold.

"She was made redundant in lockdown so started 'Sweet Deelz' as a hobby to make people happy but it seems to have really taken off.

"She does all of this while also looking after her grandson, so I think she deserves recognition for all of her hard work."
