A STRETCH of St Helens Linkway will be closed through the evening and night this week.
Roadworks will be taking place to patch and repair potholes on St Helens Linkway, the council has said.
The state of the borough’s roads have been a major talking point for Star readers in recent weeks.
In a statement, the council explained the works: “As part of our approved highway maintenance programme for this year, we'll be carrying out patching and pothole repairs at St Helens Linkway on Monday, February 19 which, weather depending, is expected to be completed by Friday, February 23.
“To safely facilitate the works, a road closure will be in place from 8pm-6am between Cannington and Sherdley Roundabout.
“Access to Tesco and Glass Futures will be maintained via a signed diversion.”
Meanwhile, the local authority is expected to set out what action it is taking to deal with potholes this week.
