Golden Lion, Rainford, acquired by Public Urban Bars

The Golden Lion, in Rainford, has begun a new era after an acquisition of the venue was completed on Monday, January 29.

Public Urban Bars, a North-West-based independent pub company, has announced its purchase of the Church Road pub from Star Pubs & Bars1.

The pub is renowned in particular for being a dining destination in the Rainford area.

Public Urban Bars says the "strategic acquisition marks another milestone" as it continues to expand its presence in the hospitality sector, and "building on our commitment to offering quality experiences to customers of all ages".

The company adds it is "excited to bring together our expertise of operating customer-focused pub businesses that are passionate about the community in which they operate" and has vowed to "offer the people of Rainford a quality local pub, focusing on great food, drink and entertainment".

Colin Stuart, managing director of Public Urban Bars, said: "We are delighted to welcome the Golden Lion into the Public Urban Bars family.

The company says the integration of the Golden Lion into the Public Urban Bars portfolio will bring changes to the venue "including menu enhancements, subtle renovations, and the introduction of signature dishes crafted by our award-winning culinary team".

Public Urban Bars added that guests can "expect a smooth transition" as it strives to build the standards of quality, innovation, and hospitality".

Mr Stuart added: "We are committed to preserving the essence and identity of the Golden Lion while introducing fresh elements that reflect the vision and values of Public Urban Bars.

"Our goal is to create an unforgettable pub experience that celebrates the rich culinary heritage of Rainford while embracing innovation and creativity."

As part of the acquisition, Public Urban Bars adds it will also be introducing "new initiatives to engage with the local community and businesses".
