AN animator and artist has shared an adorable video of how much joy his work has brought to three-year-old customer Peach.

After studying graphic design and IT at Carmel College, Jamie Stockley from Haydock was encouraged to follow his side passion of animation and has gone on to work on many highly-rated animation shows, such as Tim Burton's Frankenweenie, Roary the Racing Car, and the BAFTA-winning Clangers.

More recently though, Jamie has also been freelancing his art and 'doodles' for a range of commercial and residential clients around the North West, doing incredible St Helens inspried work on the glass frontage at Vigour other large scale business murals.

He’s also created Hallowe’en and Christmas displays on residents and business windows.

It was after seeing his work that fellow Haydock resident Devon Naylor messaged him about doing artwork in her three-year-old daughter Peach Lambert's playroom.

Devon said: “I saw lots of Jamie’s work on Facebook and Instagram but I know him through friends as well.

“Jamie does fabulous designs and I just knew when we was starting to renovate our house that I wanted him to do the wall for Peach in the play room and he loved interacting with Peach – although we did slow him down by talking to him all day.”

The video – taken by Devon showing Peach’s reaction to seeing the final work – complete with characters from Fireman Sam and Paw Patrol – shows the little girl’s excitement.

Devon added: “I was shocked by the reaction to be honest online but its fantastic so I knew everyone would love it like Peach does.

“She watched him do bits, he even drew a picture of her on her etch a sketch.

“She’s been showing family and she loves it and I’m sure she’d love to colour it in but I won’t let her, she has a chalk board wall for that.”

Jamie, 37, added: “The raw emotion in that video just really made me smile. To know that my work made that little girl so happy makes me happy and it was lovely to share that with others.

“Especially nowadays there’s an impression that creativity isn’t something easy to get work in and people can be discouraged from it.

“The more we can encourage and show creativity to children to the better – just look at the joy it has given Peach.

St Helens Star:

“I was a kid who loved doodling in school – but my parents encouraged me. My dad was an engineer and maybe worried about it being a job, but they both encouraged me – mum put a shed in the garden.

“It’s so important to not discourage creativity and seeing the pure joy from Peach is priceless.”
