SEVERE amber and yellow weather warnings have been placed on St Helens for the next few days as Storm Isha is set to hit the country.
After a surge of Arctic air brought snowy showers to the town this week, the weather has returned to milder conditions but is set to be wet and windy over the next few days.
The Met Office reports that Storm Isha will approach the UK today and bring winds as strong as 60-70mph to certain areas.

An amber weather warning has been placed on St Helens for the next two days, with the strong winds and rain likely to affect travel and mobile phone coverage. The worst of the wind is expected tonight and into the early hours of Monday morning.
Temperatures will range from five to eleven degrees over Sunday and Monday, and the winds have the potential to cause damage to buildings, injuries, and danger to life in coastal areas.
A yellow weather warning has been put in place for Tuesday and Wednesday, with winds and heavy rain expected on Tuesday.
Temperatures are expected to range from four to thirteen degrees over Tuesday and Wednesday, with the potential to cause damage to buildings, power cuts, disruption to travel, injuries and danger to life in coastal areas.
