MEET the bar manager hoping to offer a sport and social hub for people in the town centre with rebranded bar Dolliez.

The former Directors' Lounge on Barrow Street, St Helens was closed for a period following the business's closure.

However, it has now been taken over by businesswomen Mandy Miller and Loren Parr and is run by Connor Miller-Glover.

The 24-year-old hopes to offer something special in the town centre, offering a safe space for people to have a good time, enjoy sports and "have a laugh".

He said: “It’s important to realise that St Helens has had a few rough years but we are seeing a change in that now and we have to offer good places people want to come to.

“This is owned by two businesswomen and is a family business, it’s got a totally different feeling and we hope to make everyone feel welcome and happy here.

St Helens Star:

“We’ve not been open very long but we already have regulars and those who enjoyed the sports here before have come back and we have a 20 person pool team at the moment and we hope to set up a football and dart team too.

“On the other side we have a lovely space for everyone with a cocktail menu launching soon and popular drinks on draft with karaoke on a Friday and Saturday which is proving really popular.

St Helens Star:

“I think it’s really important to support local people supporting their town centres, we have to use them or lose them and I’m really proud to be working here and hope to bring something different to St Helens.

“We hope everyone will come and pop in and see what we are all about, everyone is welcome.”
