PLANNING applications have been drawn up seeking permission to create disabled toilets and facilities at some railway stations in the borough.

Proposals have been drawn up for St Helens Junction, Rainhill, Earlestown and Newton-le-Willows stations.

Plans include for an accessible toilet pod, two braille maps, six tapping rail signs and a drop-off shelter at Junction station.

At Rainhill station, two braille maps and an accessible toilet pod are planned.

The plans for Earlestown include for an accessible toilet pod, a braille map and a drop-off shelter.

Meanwhile, three braille maps and a drop-off shelter are proposed for Newton-le-Willows station.

The applications, seeking listed building consent in each case, are on standard consultation to the public until later this month.
