PEOPLE are being urged to avoid the towpath surrounding the Hotties Canal after torrential rain led to flooding.
Both St Helens Council and the World of Glass have warned about the rising waters around the Chalon Way area.
Claire Rigby, the co-owner of Momo’s cafe shared pictures of the flooding and urged dog walkers to stay clear.

She said: “Message for dog walkers. The Hotties broke its banks yesterday when I was there.
“More rain today, so letting you know before you head down there with the pooches that it’s not passable at the minute.”
The World of Glass, which is sited alongside the canal issued its own warning, which was echoed by the local authority.
In a statement St Helens Council said: “As a result of torrential rain, the section of the Hotties canal, close to the World of Glass Museum, has burst its banks.
“Please avoid the area.”
