A WEATHER warning is in place for St Helens tonight (Wednesday).

Forecasters are warning of very windy conditions, which could cause disruption.

A yellow warning is in place for parts of the North West from 6pm today (Wednesday) until 3am on December 28.

The forecast for St Helens suggests the high winds will hit between 9am and 2am, with gusts of more than 40mph.

There are also risks of showers through the evening.

  • Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges

  • Coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and/or large waves
