ST HELENS has been issued with a yellow weather warning.
The Met Office has predicted, "strong winds are likely to affect a wide area through Thursday, potentially causing some travel disruption".
The weather warning will be in place from midnight until 11.59pm on Thursday (December 21).
There is a chance of longer journey times or cancellations as road, rail, air and ferry services are affected and a slight chance of some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs.
Power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage and a small chance that injuries and danger to life could occur from large waves and beach material being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties.
