A YOUNG rugby star has braved the cold, wet, and windy weather over the past week to complete her own '7 in 7' challenge.
With former Leeds Rhinos loose forward Kevin Sinfield completing '7 marathons in 7 days' and '7 ultramarathons in 7 days', in honour of former teammate Rob Burrow and the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MDNA), one youngster he has inspired is eleven-year-old Scarlet Howarth, from Haydock.
After previously fundraising for the MDNA, the Haydock girls under-12s player has committed to running seven laps of King George playing fields every day for the past week.

Despite the treacherous weather that we have seen over the past week, Scarlet has stayed strong and many of her family, friends, and teammates have come along to support her or join in.
Smashing her original target, Scarlet has now raised well over £300 for the MNDA ahead of her final run tonight (Wednesday, December 13).
Scarlet's proud dad Ste said: "Scarlet has always liked a challenge, and she really took inspiration from what Kevin Sinfield has done and the response he has had.
"With it being around Christmas, we put a modest target on it but she has smashed that goal.
"She has really enjoyed it and we are very proud of her as a club and as parents. She's fantastic."
One of the most pleasing things that Scarlet has taken from her fundraising, dad Ste said, is how she has inspired other girls to do similar challenges for worthwhile charities.
