TRAIN services in St Helens are being delayed due to an object being caught in overhead electric wires.
There are delays and cancellations due to the object, which is caught in the wires between Liverpool Lime Street and Wigan North Western.
The issue is affecting services this evening, Saturday, on the line which takes in St Helens Centra, Thatto Heath, Eccleston Park, Prescot and Garswood stations.

In a statement train just before 5pm operator Northern said: "There is an object caught on the overhead electric wires between Liverpool Lime Street and Wigan North Western, the line is blocked. Train services running to and from these stations will be cancelled or delayed by up to 30 minutes."
