HERE is everything you need to know ahead of St Helens' Christmas Light Switch on this Saturday, November 25 at Church Square.

Who is headlining?

INDIE band The K’s will headline both St Helens and Newton-le-Willows Christmas lights switch-on events.

Hailing from Earlestown, the four-piece band have taken the indie music scene by storm, with several million streams of hit singles including Sarajevo and Glass Towns.

With their first album, I Wonder If The World Knows, to be released in March 2024 followed by a two-month tour in April and May – having already supported the likes of Blondie, Liam Gallagher and James – the group will headline the council’s town centre Christmas lights switch-on shows in St Helens and Earlestown, where a range of official merchandise will be available to purchase on both days.

When will the switch ons take place?

St Helens switch on - Saturday, November 25 from noon to 6pm, with the switch on scheduled for 5.30pm. There will be entertainment throughout the day on the main stage in Church Square.

Where is there free parking?

Free Saturday parking will be introduced on all council-run car parks in St Helens town centre from this weekend - in a bid to support the local economy over the Christmas period.

Starting from Saturday, November 25– the same day as the Christmas lights switch-on event – free car parking will be available all-day Saturday over the next four-weeks.

This includes Saturday, December 23 – with free parking already in place on a Sunday.

Free Saturday parking is already available in Earlestown, which has a town centre.
