The cheapest petrol stations in and around St Helens

The aftermath of the pandemic and Russia's invasion of Ukraine saw UK fuel prices soar up to alarming figures due to issues with oil supply. 

Although the cost of fuel has dipped since prices seen last year, the pump price of both diesel and unleaded has risen since the summer.

October has seen some slight price drops in unleaded, but diesel has been slower to decline, leading to it being sold at a premium of seven pence over unleaded.

According to RAC, the average petrol price in the UK as of November 6 is 154.11 pence per litre.

Supermarket forecourts are usually cheaper than regular petrol stations, as brands often undercut rivals to get customers into their shops, with the supermarket average for petrol currently at 150.80 pence per litre.

The average diesel price is reported as being 160.97 pence per litre as of November 6, and the supermarket average 158.63 pence per litre, according to RAC.
