POLICE were called out to a report of "suspicious circumstances" at an industrial site in Haydock over the weekend.

Residents reported witnessing a police presence at a unit on North Florida Road in Haydock, just off the East Lancs, in the early hours of Sunday, November 5.

Police have confirmed that after responding to the call, officers searched the premises and found that an electrical cable had been "taken down".

No items have been reported stolen following the report.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "At around 12.15am on Sunday, November 5, we were called to report of a suspicious circumstances at a unit on North Florid Road in Haydock where electrical cable had been taken down.

"Officers attended and searched the area. No items were reported stolen.
