TESCO explained why its St Helens Linkway store was closed temporarily on Friday (October 27).
Residents reported on social media that the shop had been closed on Friday afternoon.
Suggestions had stated this was related to the store's water supply, which a spokesman for the supermarket chain confirmed.

When asked by the Star, a spokesman said the shop had been "closed briefly" on Friday due to "a lack of water supply in the area".
He confirmed that the store is back open for "trading as normal".
