POLICE have arrested four men in connection with shoplifting and theft offences around Knowsley, Prescot and Whiston.
Over the past week, Merseyside Police have made multiple arrests following work to support and safeguard retailers across the wider region.
With plain clothes operations going on around retail premises, police have charged three men in connection with alleged shoplifting incidents.
Kevin Robinson, 49, of Elm House, Prescot has been charged with 6 separate counts of shop theft.
Kevin Wyatt, 57, of Beaconsfield, Prescot has been charged with 3 separate counts of shop theft,
Warren Jones, 50, of Coalgate Lane, Whiston has also been charged with 6 separate counts of shop theft.
Police say that they have also arrested a man suspected of committing multiple thefts from Cables Retail Park, totalling many hundreds of pounds in the last few weeks.
The 50 year old man from Whiston remains in custody for questioning.
Police say that uniformed and plain clothes officers will continue to patrol around retail premises to support businesses and catch criminals.
