A BELOVED EastEnders actor is joining the cast of a highly-rated theatre show in St Helens next month.

After ex-EastEnders actor Cheryl Fergison dropped out of the popular comedy show 'Mum's The Word' for personal reasons, another soap star has joined the cast to make sure that the show goes on.

Best known for her roles on EastEnders and Waterloo Road, Lurie Brett is now the star of 'Mum's The Word' for the remainder of its UK tour.

Acting alongside Sarita Plowman and Poppy Tierney, Laurie will now play the character of Alison in the uplifting, witty, and honest show that navigates Motherhood and the drama of life that is thrown at you.

Currently learning the lines for the hugely popular touring production, Brett said: “I am excited to be joining Mum’s The Word sharing the comedy of the rollercoaster ride that is Motherhood to parents around the country.

"I fully support Cheryl’s decision and I am looking forward to bringing my version of Alison to the tour.

A spokesperson for the Producers of the show, Red Entertainment, added: "It's been a long few days replacing Cheryl but we are delighted Laurie has stepped in, she has been a true pro and we are sure ticket holders will be delighted to see Laurie on stage".
