A SPECIAL concert for Willowbrook Hospice sold out just an hour after going on sale.

As previously reported by the Star, singer Heather Small has been scheduled to perform at a one-off show at Prescot Parish Church on Monday, December 11.

The event has been organised in memory of Heather's friend, Jonathon Robert Stott, who was cared for by Willowbrook Hospice before he passed away in 2022.

Heather, the former lead singer of the band M People, is known for hits such as ‘Search for the Hero and One Night in Heaven, will use the event to raise vital funds for Willowbrook in honour of their work and support.

With support coming from local artists Olivia Parr and Tom Loughlin, and sponsored by the Village Hotel in Liverpool, the event went on sale this week and sold out within an hour.

Fundraising Manager at Willowbrook, Suzanne Davies said: “We are overwhelmed with the popularity of this event, and thank everyone who managed to buy tickets, we are delighted that the funds raised will help us to continue the free vital care to our local community!

"[However], we would like to highlight that we are aware of fake social media accounts claiming to have tickets available for the event.

"These comments are being posted on our social media posts, we urge those who were not successful in purchasing tickets, to not fall victim to these fraudulent posts. Our socials will be monitored, and spam comments will be reported and deleted as quickly as possible."

Speaking about the show, Heather added: “Willowbrook Hospice cared for and supported my dear friend Jonathan.

“Their care and kindness is exceptional. I’m pleased to be performing at this event, in memory of Jonathan.

“Looking forward to seeing you soon!”
